Citizen Hearing on Keystone XL Pipeline

XL Pipeline Protest - Lincoln - May 2011

XL Pipeline Protest - Lincoln - March 2011

By Jane Wilson, Sierra Club Activist

Thursday, May 12, noon – 2 p,m., Lincoln

Please save the date and join with other concerned Nebraskans  Thursday, May 12, at the State Capitol in Lincoln from 12:00-2:00 pm to gather comments to submit to Secretary Clinton and to urge the Unicameral, Governor Heineman & Attorney General Bruning to pass state-based oil pipeline regulations. This is a great opportunity weigh in on the three landowner protectionary bills that have stalled in the Natural Resources Committee.

There will be a bus carrying NE citizens coming from Stuart, NE, heading through O’Neill to Grand Island and then from there to Lincoln. If you know anyone who would like to ride the bus, call Lynda Buoy at 402-684-2209. Leave a message & she will call you back.

If they’ve got a busload, we should be able to get a few carloads coming from Omaha and surrounding areas! Take a long lunch if you can, or make an afternoon of it! Please show up at the Capitol a little before noon — but if you can’t make it and want to submit a comment, please get your comments to me by Wednesday morning and I will make sure they are read at the event (and mailed off to Secretary Clinton). The hearing room is TBA. Please pass the word along!!
