The Nebraska Chapter of the Sierra Club and its Missouri Valley (MoValley) Group will each produce their first electronic newsletter in January 2010 using Constant Contact as their email manager.
The Chapter E-newsletter will be out around the 1st. of each month and the MoValley E-newsletter around the 15th. Both editions will provide a summary (or the beginning) of articles and then link the reader to http://sierranebraska.org - the combined website of the Nebraska Chapter and its four groups - for the rest of the article.
This “linked” approach will allow the E-newsletters to be brief while allowing the articles and photos on the website to be as large as desired to do justice to the article.
Please test the links, cruise our website, and provide use with any ideas for improvement. We will probably use a variety of E-newsletter formats and theme colors for the first half of 2010 to give the Communications Committee members time to select a final version.
Meanwhile the “paper copy” newsletter of the Chapter will be published and mailed six times a year to members for whom we have no email address (or specifically request a paper copy). The Chapter copy will include news from the MoValley Goup which has ceased publishing a paper copy. The paper copy will include requests for member to provide email addresses so we can continue to reduce the number of paper copies printed.
